Australian Physiotherapy Association

The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) is the peak body representing the interests of Australian physiotherapists and their patients ~ and in 2006, celebrated 100 years of helping Australians to move well and stay well.

An important APA objective is to actively assist with the development and progressive improvement of innovative bed and mattress products that are designed to promote correct spinal alignment and deliver the best possible standards of back care.

The APA has formed a close and fruitful working relationship with one of Australia’s most respected bedding manufacturers, Simmons ~ and provided invaluable input into the creation of technologically advanced back care features now found in many Simmons mattresses. Including their exclusive 5 zone Pocketed Coil® spring system that conforms perfectly to your body shape; delivers gentle ‘all-over’ back support, and also dampens sleep surface movement to minimise partner disturbance.

Unlike the springs in an ordinary mattress, Pocketed Coil® springs are not joined at the top or the bottom. Which means that the height of the springs can cleverly adjust to the individual weight and contour of your body ~ and more effectively relieve pressure on your joints.

Today, the APA has approximately 12 000 members and advocates for equitable access to quality physiotherapy and optimal healthcare for all Australians ~ pursuant to its overall mission of advancing professional excellence and maximising community health and wellbeing.

Forty Winks carry a range of Simmons beds approved by the APA. Every staff member is trained to be able to help you find the right bed for your needs. Come in and try the range of beds endorsed by the APA at one of our Forty Winks stores.

These outstanding Simmons mattresses are not only a real blessing for anyone whose ‘bad back’ currently gives them grief lying down, but also people who want to prevent their bed from causing painful back complaints.
