Bedroom mirrors

A mirror can do more than tell you whether the outfit works. It can finish a bedroom furniture setting, add a practical getting-ready spot, and make use of the wall above a dresser. Compare shapes, sizes, frames, and matching ranges.

About bedroom mirrors

A mirror can do more than tell you whether the outfit works. It can finish a bedroom furniture setting, add a practical getting-ready spot and make use of the wall above a dresser. Compare shapes, sizes, frames and matching ranges.

Dresser mirrors and wall mirrors

Some bedroom mirrors in our range, like the Fulham and Bolton, are made to sit above a matching dresser, so the two pieces read as one setting and give you a proper place to get ready. Others, like the Cobar and Macquarie, hang on the wall on their own, which suits a bedroom without a dresser or a spot beside the wardrobe. If you already own a dresser, check the mirror's width against the dresser top before you buy; a mirror slightly narrower than the dresser usually looks most balanced. Browse the matching dressers if you are starting from scratch.

Timber, painted and veneer frames

The frame sets the style. Natural timber frames bring warmth and character, with options in Tasmanian Blackwood, Marri, and Victorian Ash with Tasmanian Oak veneer, where every piece carries its own grain. White painted frames, like the Fulham, keep the look clean and suit classic or coastal rooms, while darker timber finishes, like the Bolton, add depth. Several timber mirrors in the range are made in Australia, including designs from the Mix and Match collection where you can choose the stain to match the rest of your furniture. See our full Australian Made bedroom furniture range.

Matching a mirror to the rest of the room

The easiest way to a pulled-together bedroom is to choose the mirror from the same range as your dresser, tallboy and bedside tables, so the timber, finish and hardware all line up. If you are mixing ranges, match the timber tone or the paint colour rather than trying to match exactly, and repeat it at least once elsewhere in the room. Our bedroom furniture range shows each collection side by side.

Hanging and placing your mirror safely

Wall-hung mirrors should be fixed into studs or with fixings rated for the mirror's weight, and dresser mirrors should be attached to the dresser as the instructions describe. Heavier furniture in the same setting, such as the dresser itself, should be anchored to the wall too, particularly in homes with young children; our wall anchoring guide explains how. Place the mirror where it catches natural light without reflecting a window straight into your eyes from the bed.
