What ultra plush feels like
Ultra plush mattresses have the deepest, softest comfort layers in their brand's range, so you sink in noticeably when you lie down and feel cradled around the shoulders and hips. They usually sit in the luxury end of a range, with generous foam, fibre or pillow-top layers over a premium support system. The support underneath is what keeps a deep, soft feel comfortable through the night.

Plush gives a cushioned surface while ultra plush goes a step further, with more sink and a softer first feel. If you like a soft feel but want a little less sink, plush is a good one to compare; if you want to feel enveloped, ultra plush is worth trying. Many side sleepers and lighter sleepers enjoy ultra plush, while back and stomach sleepers often prefer something firmer.
