Forty Winks bedMATCH® is our patented diagnostic system, exclusive to Forty Winks. It uses more than 1,000 scientific calculations across 18 body measurements to help determine your individual postural support needs. Your trusted Sleep Advisor can use those results to guide a personalised shortlist, then you can compare comfort and feel for yourself.
Forty Winks Fitzroy moved a little over a kilometre in 2026, swapping its old Johnston Street home for a fresh showroom on Hoddle Street in Abbotsford. The name stayed, the team stayed, and the reason people visit stayed too: proper mattress advice without the hard sell. The new location is brighter, easier to shop, and more of a destination than a passing stop, which suits a team that would rather give you time to get the decision right.
Sue and the Fitzroy team bring decades of bedding experience between them, including one team member with around 30 years in the category. They are not interested in turning that experience into a lecture. A trusted Sleep Advisor will start with what you are trying to solve, use Forty Winks bedMATCH® to help with support, and then give you enough space to notice what actually feels right.
The Fitzroy team sees plenty of customers who arrive after discovering that a mattress looked easier to choose on a screen than it felt to sleep on. In store, you can slow the process down. Forty Winks bedMATCH® helps with your individual postural support needs, a trusted Sleep Advisor can explain the differences, and you can actually lie on the shortlist before deciding. Sometimes the useful part of mattress shopping is simply being able to change your mind before the mattress reaches your bedroom.
The Hoddle Street store has more than 50 mattresses and bedroom suites on display, but that does not mean you need to test every one. The team can help narrow the options based on support, budget, feel, and what is not working in your current set-up. If three mattresses are genuinely worth comparing, three is a much better afternoon than fifty.
