Forty Winks Essendon opened in 2022 as part of David and Virginia's family-owned group of Melbourne stores. Store manager Adam brought years of retail experience with him, first in golf and then at Forty Winks Hoppers Crossing. The aim at Essendon is simple: make the showroom easy to navigate, keep the advice clear, and give local customers one place to sort out the whole sleep setup.
Adam and the Essendon team like the showroom to feel polished without becoming precious. They start calmly, ask what matters most in your next sleep setup, and help customers compare support, comfort, temperature and other practical needs. Adjustable bases are a particular area of interest here, but the team is just as happy helping someone work out the basics without drowning them in mattress terminology.
One of the most common mattress myths is that firmer automatically means more supportive. It is not that simple. Forty Winks bedMATCH® helps determine your individual postural support needs, then your trusted Sleep Advisor can narrow the field. From there, comfort is personal. Try the different feels, notice how well supported you feel and how each mattress feels to lie on, then choose what suits you rather than a label on the end of the bed.
Adjustable bases are a big part of the conversation at Essendon. Customers often arrive curious about Zero G positions, easier movement in and out of bed, or simply having more flexibility for reading and relaxing. The team can talk through the options and what they are designed to do, while keeping expectations realistic. A sleep system can support comfort and lifestyle needs, but it is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment.
