David and Virginia have owned Forty Winks Prahran since 2002, while manager Helen has been part of the store since 2015. The Malvern Road showroom serves a mix of apartment dwellers, families and long-time locals, so the brief can be anything from a better mattress to a custom bedroom setup. What ties it together is a team that would rather listen first and recommend second.
Helen's retail background started long before bedding, including family businesses overseas, and she brings that same people-first instinct to Prahran. The wider team works the same way: ask good questions, make the technical bits understandable, and give customers room to decide. It is a detailed approach, but never meant to feel clinical.
Prahran bedrooms do not all come with generous proportions, so room measurements can be just as useful as knowing your preferred mattress feel. Bring dimensions, floor plans or any constraints you are working around. The team can help you think through bed size, storage, bedheads and furniture before something beautiful arrives and discovers the doorway had other ideas.
Forty Winks bedMATCH® is a useful first filter, not the final word on comfort. The patented diagnostic system, exclusive to Forty Winks, uses more than 1,000 scientific calculations across 18 body measurements to help determine individual postural support needs. Your trusted Sleep Advisor can then guide you to a smaller group of mattresses. After that, take your time. Lie down properly, compare the feel and choose the comfort that suits you.
