Howard and Melanie Allen took ownership of the Hobart Forty Winks business in 1996, and in 2023 their daughter Betsy and son-in-law Callan joined the ownership group. Today, the Cambridge store carries that family retail history forward on Hobart's Eastern Shore. The business is proudly Tasmanian, with a long-serving team and a strong belief that good service starts with understanding the person, not simply pointing at products.
The Cambridge team has some serious staying power. Store manager Glenn has been with the business for 21 years, and the wider culture is built around making customers feel comfortable enough to ask questions and take their time. That experience helps when the brief ranges from a first mattress to adjustable sleep, children's beds or a complete bedroom setup.

The Allen family's Forty Winks story began in 1996 with Howard and Melanie. In 2023, Betsy and Callan joined the business as owners, bringing the next generation into the mix.
